Retailer Wickes gets to work on Twitter users' ideas in #WickesPaintPortraits

DIY retailer Wickes has run a fun-filled social media campaign to highlight its latest buy-one-get-one-free promotion on paint.

The retailer has asked Twitter users to use the #WickesPaintsPortraits hashtag on Twitter to submit sentences in the form: "I’m______ while______ in ______ #WickesPaintPortraits".

These have then been turned into profile pictures by an in-house designer from the retailer's creative agency, Iris.

Seemingly inspired by @Jimllpaintit, a Twitter user who takes requests and uses Microsoft Paint to create artwork, Wickes has seen plenty of engagement thus far.

Among the suggestions it has taken up were one from Shona Ghosh, a writer on PRWeek sister title Marketing, who asked for "I’m escaping flesh-eating zombies while climbing in a post-apocalyptic UK", and another from Dunkin' Donuts.
