Bowel Cancer UK takes on PR chief
Gus Baldwin (pictured) will join the research charity Bowel Cancer UK on Monday (29 February) as director of external affairs. He has spent the past nine months as managing director, public affairs and engagement, at another charity, Leonard Cheshire Disability. He has also worked for Mencap, Macmillan Cancer Support and in two consultancies.
Tangerine gets set with Spartan
Following a two-way pitch, Tangerine has been appointed to manage the UK press office for the Reebok Spartan Race, a series of six obstacle races across the UK. The brief includes media relations, partnership activation, event media management and celebrity engagement.

Reputation management consultancy ReputationInc has opened an office in Oslo, Norway. The firm has a London HQ and also opened in New York earlier this month.
Citigate takes on Maria Darby-Walker
Citigate Dewe Rogerson has appointed Maria Darby-Walker as senior director in its financial division. She arrived in the role on Monday having spent the past decade working as a freelance consultant, including as an acting in-house director for organisations including the Financial Conduct Authority. She started her PR career with a decade at Lansons in 1989.
BQ picks apple tree for launch
BQ, a Spain-headquartered smartphone and hardware maker, has appointed apple tree communications as its retained UK agency as it prepares to launch in the country. The agency, which has two offices in Spain, had been handling Spanish comms for BQ since early 2015.
