NEW YORK: Weber Shandwick has hired award-winning journalist Brett Pulley as EVP and MD, corporate content and media strategy.
Based in the firm’s New York office, Pulley reports to Paul Jensen, president of Weber's North America corporate practice.
He will oversee corporate and business-to-business content, as well as provide high-level media strategy and crisis/issues counsel to clients. Pulley will also work with the various teams across the firm to bring media and content strategies to clients.
Most recently, Pulley was the dean of the Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications at Hampton University.
Before that he had a career as a journalist and senior editor for outlets including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Bloomberg, and The New York Times. Accolades for his work include a Pulitzer Prize nomination while at The New York Times and two first-place annual prizes from the National Association of Black Journalists in 1994 and 2002.
