Wood, who starts at JLR in April, will take responsibility for managing strategic PR planning and activation of Jaguar and Land Rover’s global partnerships, as well as leading lifestyle comms.

JLR is headquartered in the UK, employs 32,000 people globally and is owned by Tata Motors. It sold 46,000 vehicles in January, its best ever performance for the month, according to a press release earlier this week.

As global partner, PR, at The Brooklyn Brothers London for the past five years, Wood has worked on the Jaguar and Land Rover brands as a consultant for most of that time. Wood helped win the account to launch the Range Rover Evoque in 2011, before picking up the global PR brief for Jaguar in 2012.

In her new role, Wood will report to Gabi Whitfield, JLR’s global director of brand and experience PR. She will head a team that focuses on non-automotive media. "Laura’s appointment and extensive PR experience is fundamental to our strategy to become the leading automotive brand within the lifestyle earned media space," said Whitfield.

Wood joined US-headquartered The Brooklyn Brothers in 2011, having left the agency Golden Goose PR, which she co-founded in 2003, the year before. Prior to that she was a consultant at Braben Company and Joe Public Relations.

Wood said: "It is with great pride that I join the JLR team at such a pivotal point in the company’s growth. I have helped to tell the story of these brilliant brands for many years and I look forward to continuing in my new role."

She will also work with newly promoted global head of media relations Ken Mc Conomy.
