Wright reports to Chivas Brothers chairman and chief executive Georges Nectoux.
The division was formed when Pernod Ricard merged Campbell Distillers with Chivas Brothers, the whisky arm of Seagram that the firm acquired early this year, and whose name was retained for the merged division.
Its leading brands include Chivas Regal, Glenlivet and Glen Grant.
The new Chivas Brothers division is one of three business units established by the firm, including Pernod Ricard UK, the UK distribution arm of the firm, and Pernod Ricard World Trade, the duty free and travel retail business.
Communications responsibility for the latter falls under Wright's responsibility, while the distribution arm is recruiting for a comms manager to head work in that division, working closely with Wright.
Wright said that she is looking to recruit a 'significant' in-house team, and is looking to double the comms headcount to eight.
She added that it was 'difficult to say' whether the firm's retained agencies would be affected due to the short period of time since the merger.
'We are at the early stages of looking over our agency relationships and will have to look very carefully and make decisions based on brand market priorities,' she said.
Previously, PR for Chivas Brothers, which provides 650 of the new entity's 820 headcount, was handled by Seagram's central marketing and comms teams.
