Max Borges Agency plants flag in New York

The New York office, based in midtown Manhattan, opens on March 1 - almost two years after the firm opened its San Francisco office.

NEW YORK: Max Borges Agency is opening an office in New York City next month, to be led by Frank Mantero and Peter DiBart.

The New York office, located in midtown Manhattan, will open on March 1 – almost two years after the firm opened its San Francisco office. Max Borges Agency also has an office in Miami, where it was founded in 2002.

Co-leading the New York office is Mantero, who joined the firm in December as SVP of account services, and DiBart, who serves as SVP and creative director. They both report to the firm’s founder and CEO, Max Borges.

Mantero and DiBart will be joined in the New York office by Kristen Mondshein, account supervisor, and Craig Gottlieb, director. Borges explained that the consumer tech industry is the firm’s core focus. However, the agency may look at adjacent markets, such as b-to-b tech.

"New York provides the agency with access to talent," said Mantero. "That is going to really build certain competencies and scale for the next level of clients that we want."

Borges noted that the firm’s New York presence will add value to its bottom line and its account services teams.

"Our teams in Miami and San Francisco are going to get access to an office and the world’s largest media market in a way they never have before," he said.

The San Francisco office has grown to 13 employees from three when it launched.

"We have been able to generate a lot of business out there, find fantastic talent, and take our culture and business model and apply it in a new city – it’s working really well," said Borges.

Max Borges Agency has more than 60 employees in its three offices.
