As part of the role as an ambassador for Jaguar, he took part in an extreme ice driving challenge in Sweden to support the launch of the Jaguar F-PACE performance SUV and Ice Drive Experience.
Finnish professional racing driver Tommi Karrinaho was on hand to put Mourinho's driving skills to the test as part of the experience, which the firm is aiming to launch for customers next year.
"The flying lap with Tommi sent my adrenaline soaring. It’s something I’ve only ever experienced before when I have walked out in front of 80,000 football fans," said Mourinho, who christened himself as 'the special one' when he first arrived to manage in the Premier League.
CAA Sport Consulting (formerly brandRapport) supported the campaign. The agency told PRWeek that Mourinho is fundamental to the company's content creation strategy, particularly when it comes to targeting non-automotive media.
In 2016, Jaguar UK will expand its ambassador partnerships to align with major sponsorships, so Mourinho is expected to be prominent when it comes to promoting the firm at events such as Wimbledon.
