NEFF appoints Golin for global brief
NEFF, the kitchen appliances company, has appointed Golin to lead brand PR around the world, following a competitive pitch. It is the first time NEFF has hired a global PR agency. Golin has been tasked with developing a PR strategy that will help raise brand awareness in more than 14 markets across the globe.
Charlie Coney, head of creative EMEA at Golin, said: "NEFF is the choice of cooking enthusiasts, and we hope our programme of Golin-led creative PR campaigns will help markets around the world spread that enthusiasm even further."
AA calls in Rhizome
The AA has hired Rhizome Media to boost the profile of its motoring services portfolio of brands, which includes AA Cars, AA Vehicle Inspections, AA Tyres and Automyze. Rhizome was chosen after the AA saw the work it had done with consumer motoring start-up, Motoriety. The account will be led by associate director Guy Smith, who joined Rhizome a year ago from BBC London where he was home affairs correspondent.
Pharo joins 72Point as COO
Chris Pharo, former head of news at The Sun, has joined 72Point as chief operations officer. 72Point, the PR arm of independent news agency SWNS, is one of the largest suppliers of content to The Sun and other national publications. Pharo's 25 years at The Sun ended with two trials over alleged illegal payments to public officials – he was cleared in October of both, four years after charge.
Landbay hires TVC Group
Peer-to-peer mortgage lending platform Landbay has appointed TVC Group to help drive the next stage of the company’s brand development strategy. Following a competitive pitch, TVC will manage full press office comms and deliver integrated, national consumer campaigns, to raise Landbay’s brand profile and drive awareness among investors and borrowers. Landbay launched in July 2014.
Echo appoints PR Agency One
Customer contact outsourcing firm Echo Managed Services has appointed PR Agency One to "bolster its brand awareness, explore and penetrate new markets, and increase its overall online visibility", according to a release from the agency. Echo employs more than 650 people and has a turnover of over £30m.
GingerComms launches polling arm
GingerComms has launched polling arm Ginger Research, a service for its roster of PR agency and consumer brand clients. GingerComms was founded in 2014 by Harriet Scott, the former group MD of 72Point, and husband James Scott, former editor of the Sunday People. GingerComms said it had so far worked with clients including Morrisons, Sky, M&S, Quidco and Heinz and several agencies from PRWeek’s Top 150 PR Consultancies report.
Beattie wins Redefine|BDL Hotels brief
Redefine|BDL Hotels, which manages 63 hotels across the UK including the IHG, Hilton Worldwide and Accor brands, has hired Beattie to deliver SEO, content strategy, social media and web design, following a competitive pitch. Beattie already holds the PR account for the group.
