Cowshed wins Smart Energy GB and NT briefs, Suzy Ferguson awards shortlist named, Start Up Loans appoints Citypress, Hochanda, Good Agency and Bullet PR.

Cowshed wins National Trust and Smart Energy GB

Cardiff agency Cowshed has won PR briefs for The National Trust and Smart Energy GB, following competitive pitches. For Smart Energy GB, Cowshed will develop a PR and media strategy in Wales to inform the nation about the roll-out of smart meters and inspire people to embrace the new technology. The agency will create six themed media campaigns as part of the UK-wide National Trust campaign to inspire more families to explore the charity’s properties.

Suzy Ferguson Spirit Award shortlist revealed

The shortlist for this year’s Suzy Ferguson Spirit Award has been announced. The award was launched by Gorkana in partnership with Ferguson’s former employer Lewis. Ferguson passed away from bowel cancer in July 2012, aged 31.

The shortlist is: Chloe Couchman, global media relations director, Carlson Wagonlit Travel; Anita Glover, head of corporate comms, mhs homes; Jessica Huie, founder, JH Public Relations; Henry Playfoot, strategy director, Claremont; Chloe Staniforth, account executive, Cream Consultancy; and Louise Thompson, marketing and PR manager, Dalton Park Retail Outlet.

Start Up Loans retains Citypress

Start Up Loans, the Government-backed scheme which provides loans, mentoring and support for new and early stage businesses, has appointed Citypress as its retained PR agency, following a competitive pitch. Citypress will provide a 24/7 newsroom service and a series of campaigns aimed at microbusiness owners, as well as engaging a broader demographic through a mix of broadcast, lifestyle, online and social media.

Hochanda hires PHA Media for PR and social media brief

Craft and hobby retailer Hochanda has appointed PHA Media to provide PR and social media support. The agency will develop a campaign to raise awareness of the range of categories, products and entertainment Hochanda provides.

Good Agency hires Sam Hollis as head of planning

Good Agency has hired Sam Hollis from BrandPie as its new head of planning. Hollis starts in the role today. He was previously senior brand strategist at BrandPie, where he led client accounts for EY and The Royal Albert Hall.

Bullet PR wins two new clients

Bullet was won briefs to handle PR for the launch of the new Museum of Brands, Packaging and Advertising in London and a new exhibition, Fashion Cities Africa, that will be opening at Brighton Museum and Art Gallery.
