M&C Saatchi S&E steers boat race PR
M&C Saatchi Sport and Entertainment has been appointed by BNY Mellon and Newton Investment Management, the sponsors of the Oxford and Cambridge University Boat Race. The agency is charged with maximising the campaign, which has seen the financial firms "donate" their race sponsorship to Cancer Research UK this year.
Separately, M&C Saatchi PR has won a brief to provide brand and product PR to menswear retailer Jacamo.
The Gym Group hires Instinctif
Low-cost gym operator The Gym Group has hired Instinctif Partners as its retained business comms adviser following a competitive pitch. The account was previously held by FTI. Founded in 2008 by John Treharne, a former England squash player and founder of Dragons Health Clubs, The Gym Group currently operates 56 sites.
Octopus wins client duo
Octopus Group has been appointed as the retained UK agency for IT security firm Bomgar, and executive search firm Intramezzo. It has been briefed to "position Bomgar as the perfect partner for mid-sized and enterprise organisations looking to reduce the risk of cyber-attacks", and to run a PR, social and content programme for Intramezzo.
Lewis to help sushi firm expand
Lewis' consumer division has been appointed to promote restaurant chain SushiShop. The French chain opened the second of its two UK restaurants late in 2015, while working with Lewis on a product basis, and is now looking towards further UK openings.
Vitis PR opens Scottish office
Birmingham-headquartered tech agency Vitis PR has opened an office in Fife. The Scottish base will be led by Fife native Nicola Corn, head of media relations, who has been with the firm since 2010.

Gloucestershire's Clear B2B Marketing and PR has been appointed to relaunch Swedish workwear brand Blåkläder in the UK and Ireland. The contract is to raise brand awareness and build market share through a variety of approaches.
Faith PR drives Fairway Travel
Golf travel specialist Fairway Tavel has chosen Faith PR to build awareness of its brand among the UK professional golfing industry through ongoing social media management and content marketing. Faith will work with the agency Browndog Design, which will provide design and digital support.
