CHARLOTTE, NC: Former Sterling Strategies principal consultant Kimberly Kuo has joined Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated as SVP of public affairs, communications, and communities, the company said this week.
She is overseeing external and internal communications, federal and state government affairs, and community engagement efforts, according to a statement from the company.
Kuo was previously CMO at Baker & Taylor and VP of communications and advocacy at CTIA, where she served as spokesperson and led messaging and media relations before focusing her efforts on its MyWireless.org project, according to her LinkedIn account.
She has also served as a spokesperson for AOL and was press secretary for then-Sen. Bob Dole (R-KS). Kuo was Dole’s assistant press secretary during his White House bid in 1996 and deputy press secretary to vice presidential hopeful Jack Kemp, according to LinkedIn.
Kuo is succeeding Lauren Steele, who is retiring, according to a statement.
A Coca-Cola Consolidated representative was not immediately available for comment.
