Brands display cheesy humour on #NationalCheeseLoversDay

Any PRWeek readers who use Twitter will be aware that almost each day brings a new celebration you've probably never heard of before. Wednesday (20 January) was #NationalCheeseLoversDay.

Terrible puns were a mainstay of the festivities, including from the wonderfully named trade association the British Cheese Board:

Condé Nast saw the opportunity to launch cheese tourism:

It wasn't just food and travel industry firms getting involved with special content however:

Restaurant chain Nando's was among those to roll their eyes at the occasion:

Guinness World Records of course had a record relating to the day:

It was also pointed out that the cheese lovers' constituency might have had some crossover with penguin aficionados, who also celebrated yesterday – leaving poor Museum Selfie Day barely getting a look in.

(At the time of writing, Team Cheese was winning.)
