Google hires Weber's David Skelton to head public policy

Google has appointed David Skelton from Weber Shandwick in the role of public policy manager, based in London.

Skelton began his new role this month.

He joined Weber Shandwick in May last year to lead the agency's UK public affairs offering. 

His previous roles include deputy director and head of research at the Policy Exchange think-tank and principal consultant at PA Consulting.

Most recently, he founded campaign group Renewal, which aims to strengthen the appeal of the Conservative Party.
