Dentsu Aegis Network China today announced that its PR unit, Dentsu BlueFocus, has been rebranded as Dentsu Public Relations, or Dentsu PR Beijing.
The move completes Dentsu BlueFocus’ integration as a brand agency under Dentsu Aegis Network China.
Dentsu BlueFocus was set up in 2010 as a joint venture between BlueFocus Communication Group, Dentsu and Dentsu PR in Japan.
After operating in China for the past five years, in March 2015 Dentsu Aegis Network China bought the majority stake in the PR joint venture from BlueFocus, becoming its sole owner.
The rebrand is part of Dentsu Aegis’ plans for the new Dentsu PR to be a full-service integrated comms solutions provider for clients in China.
"The successful rebranding and addition of Dentsu Public Relations to our brands demonstrate our ambitions to strengthen our business capabilities and offerings, as well as the network’s commitment to the China market," said Motohiro Yamagishi, CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network China.
"I am very confident that the long accumulated public relations expertise and in-depth market insights will expand our public relations offerings in China and work collaboratively with other brand agencies to offer competitive integrated services for our clients."
Zheng Yan, general manager of Dentsu Public Relations, said, "With the development of globalization and the rise of owned media, traditional one-way communications have become unfit for the rapidly changing information environment.
"A professional and highly creative top-notch communications team with strong global network is required to provide clients with internationally informed and locally viable public relations solutions."
