Hill+Knowlton Strategies lands Nancy Fitzsimmons as corporate, crisis SVP

She most recently worked at Twist Mktg for five years.

NEW YORK: Hill+Knowlton Strategies has hired former Twist Mktg MD and corporate health lead Nancy Fitzsimmons as SVP in its corporate and crisis practice.

Before joining W2O’s Twist for five years, Fitzsimmons spent time in-house, including as senior director of corporate initiatives at AstraZeneca, director of external communications at Quest Diagnostics, and director of corporate communications at Organon Pharmaceuticals. She also had stints as VP of global communications at Novartis and director of global communications at Bayer in its diagnostics division, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Fitzsimmons said via email that she is looking forward to using the healthcare and issues and crisis management knowledge she’s developed to support the firm’s clients. She also noted the rapid changes taking place in the healthcare field.

"The healthcare industry is in the midst of rapid disruption affecting every aspect of the business, from innovation to pricing and positioning," she said. "In pharma for example, the new success equation needs to ensure not only safety and efficacy but also unimpeded access and therapeutic value, the latter of which are still highly subjective."

Fitzsimmons will report to H+K US president and CEO Beth Balsam.

A W2O representative said Fitzsimmons' role has not yet been filled.
