Moonpig appoints Popcorn
Personalised card and gift retailer Moonpig.com has appointed Popcorn as its retained consumer PR agency after a competitive pitch. Moonpig, which was founded in 2000, has brought Popcorn on board to deliver a multifaceted PR programme to position the site as the one-stop shop for all gifting occasions, including emphasis on its flower delivery service and breadth of product offering. The account will be led by Popcorn deputy managing director Sara Howard.
Claremont takes Victoria Page from Grayling
Claremont Communications has appointed Victoria Page as a director. Page was previously director of CSR and sustainability at Grayling's dedicated sustainability division, Future Planet, working for Unilever, Sony Europe and Jaguar Land Rover. In her new role she will be responsible for managing and expanding Claremont's private sector clients, and exploring their social values.
Freesat hires comms chief
Subscription-free satellite TV service Freesat has promoted Jennifer Elworthy to the role of director of marketing and comms. She joined the firm in 2013, having previously led campaigns to market print and digital subscriptions at The Times. She succeeds Paul Gilshan, who leaves after three years at Freesat to join employee benefits car company Tusker as chief marketing officer.
Freshwater's arrival from Birmingham International
The agency Freshwater has appointed John Morris, formerly the public affairs director at Birmingham International Airport, as a senior public affairs consultant. He will provide counsel to Freshwater's clients on transport, planning, infrastructure and public affairs.
New clients for Clementine
Clementine Communications has won two new clients. The five star Sofitel London St James hotel has appointed the agency as its UK PR agency for The Balcon restaurant, The St James Bar and The Rose Lounge after a competitive pitch with four agencies, and Bordeaux-focused travel firm Bernard Magrez Luxury Wine Experience has also briefed Clementine.
