Following its much-awaited entrance into Asia, Netflix has moved quickly as part of its ambitious expansion plans and hired Jessica Lee as its first director of corporate communications for Asia.
Lee has more than 30 years’ PR and comms experience, and joins after almost eight years at McDonald’s, where she was most recently chief communications and corporate affair officer for Greater China.
She moved to Shanghai in July 2013 from McDonald’s Asia-Pacific operations in Singapore, and now returns to take on the Netflix role.
Lee has significant expertise in stakeholder management, brand positioning and change management.
She was responsible for moving McDonald’s Greater China from a company with a traditional PR setup to one that focused on content management and brand publishing.
Lee is also versed in crisis management and public affairs having handled both roles for McDonald’s Greater China. She developed the firm’s social media platforms and implemented a social listening system to respond to crisis issues.
Before joing McDonald’s, Lee worked for Standard Chartered and Aviva Asia in communications roles.
