Burson-Marsteller has hired PR specialist Euan Wilmshurst as managing director and deputy market leader of the firm’s Singapore office.
Wilmshurst has more than 20 years’ experience in PR and communications. He was previously at Penn Schoen Berland, where he was most recently vice president and head of APAC after relocating to Singapore in 2014.
Before that, Wilmshurst was vice president at PSB based in London. He has also worked as head of international affairs at Pearson and prior to that was senior manager for public affairs at Coca-Cola.
"This exciting opportunity to join Burson-Marsteller Singapore is the perfect next step following my years at PSB," Wilmshurst told PRWeek Asia.
"I hope my experience in supplying brands with research-driven strategies and solutions will be a helpful contribution at a time when Burson-Marsteller is growing and expanding its client base, both here in Singapore and across the region."
Wilmshurst has worked extensively with corporate clients, governments and NGOs. Major recent clients include Pearson, Royal Bank of Scotland and Iraq’s Al Dawa political party, as well as several tech companies.
He added: "I hope to work with the team to increase the focus on research-driven strategies for our clients, as well as bringing a client-side perspective to current and new relationships.
"I am excited about working with such a talented group of people and helping take the business to the next level."
Wilmshurst will report to Allison Lim, CEO and market leader of Burson-Marsteller Singapore.
