The PR stunt was led inhouse by marketing and communications executive, Gwawr Jones. The team had three weeks to pull off the stunt, which was based on the crime scene in the first episode - a bus.
With the help of special effects and creative company Artem, the team built a giant plastic evidence bag to fit over the exact bus used in the production, to appear by the time the first shoppers were out on the city streets. By 7am on Monday morning, bemused shoppers were beginning to take photos of the bus and build up excitement for the series.
The second series of Hinterland is set in Aberystwyth and stars Poldark’s Richard Harrington as DCI Mathias. The four-part drama starts tonight (Wednesday 23 December) on BBC One Wales.
