Mirror Group's appeal over £1.2m damages to phone hacking victims rejected

Mirror Group Newspapers' appeal to reduce the size of damages paid to eight victims of phone hacking was rejected on all grounds today but the publisher said it would fight on. The Court of Appeal rejected Mirror Group’s appeal against an earlier judgement ordering it to pay £1.2m to eight celebrities, including Sadie Frost and Paul Gascoigne, whose mobile phones were hacked by its journalists. Douglas & Gordon appoints Launch PR

London estate agency Douglas & Gordon has appointed Launch PR to work on a 12-month integrated PR programme to build and strengthen its brand. Launch replaces incumbent Edelman and will start work immediately, reporting to head of marketing, Wendy Turpin.


Tank PR makes key appointments

Nottingham-based PR agency Tank has appointed former Geest director Tim Sutton and global business coach Stuart Ross to its board as non-executive directors. They have been appointed to help Tank grow its full-service digital content offering. The agency’s clients include Ipsos Retail Performance, Miller Homes, design consultancy 20.20 and restaurant brand Red Hot World Buffet.


Good Relations hires Red’s Jessica Schon

Good Relations has bolstered its corporate team by hiring Jessica Schon as senior associate director, from Red Consultancy. Schon, one of PRWeek’s former ’29 under 29’, will lead the corporate team on a day-to-day basis and provide senior client counsel on accounts including Airbus, as well as playing a role in business development.
