NEW YORK: Former Ruder Finn EVP and director of healthcare media Mary Conway has been appointed inaugural MD of healthcare media, US at Cohn & Wolfe.
Conway will oversee the firm's domestic healthcare media team and be part of the practice’s evolution. She reports to Cohn & Wolfe’s chief integrated marketing officer and president of the Americas, Jim Joseph.
She started at C&W on Monday and will also work with the WPP agency's healthcare leadership team and US MD of healthcare, Jillian Janaczek.
In addition to Conway, Cohn & Wolfe added two more Chandler Chicco and Ruder Finn alumni to its healthcare practice, naming Alice Sofield SVP, healthcare media, US, and Jenn Gordon VP, healthcare media, US. Sofield will be based in Washington and oversee FDA-related activities.
All three executives joined Ruder Finn in April this year, but have decamped to C&W after just nine months.
Conway said that in the 24/7 news cycle with ever-evolving platforms "there’s never been a greater need to get information out there." An integral piece of outreach is not just utilizing new platforms but also pinpointing what and how particular audiences use new technologies, she added.
Before joining Ruder Finn, Conway was media relations lead at Chandler Chicco Companies for nearly two decades, according to LinkedIn. As one of the company’s founders, Conway was a senior strategist and part of the senior leadership of its sister agency, Biosector 2 – both of which became inVentiv Health PR Group companies when the agency "reorganized" last year.
