NEW YORK: Former General Electric communications executive Frank Mantero has joined Max Borges Agency as SVP of account services.

Mantero started at the firm on December 7 and reports to its president Max Borges.

"I will be looking at processes, workflows, infrastructure, and how to scale the agency capabilities to further enhance client relationships," Mantero told PRWeek via email. He added that he will be opening up the firm’s New York office, but could not comment further.

Max Borges Agency currently has offices in Miami and San Francisco.

Mantero joins Max Borges Agency from Ansell Healthcare, where he has worked since September 2012. He was initially VP of global branding, corporate communications, and creative services, before being promoted to SVP of corporate comms and marketing in June 2014, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Prior to joining Ansell, Mantero was corporate communications director at USI Insurance Services. He also worked at GE for seven years, where he served as director of corporate citizenship and marketing communications leader.

While at GE, Mantero was responsible for coordinating the company's global citizenship efforts, developing and managing its Citizenship Report, monitoring engagement with stakeholders, and leading its presence on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index.

He was also lead spokesperson for GE-sponsored disaster relief efforts and GE Foundation activities. In addition, he oversaw the public policy grant portfolio for the GE Foundation, which includes programs on human rights, climate change, and globalization.

Earlier in his career, Mantero was communications director at Cigna Healthcare.
