Why is the Metropolitan Police media team going digital at the expense of local comms?
The Metropolitan Police media team is in the middle of a massive programme of change that will see it beef up its digital offering at the expense of some of its traditional roles. The change will see the team reduced in number by around a third and its budget cut by £2m a year from next April. But anyone who thinks the media team has been denuded is in for a rude awakening.
