Meanwhile, chief executive Ian Jesnick moves to a new role of senior consultant.
Richmond Towers was acquired by Metcalfe and Jesnick in a management buyout in 2005 when Metcalfe’s previous agency, Chrome Consulting, was incorporated into the business. Three acquisitions have been made since then, including Van Communications last year, which became its lifestyle team.
"Contrary to the views of various industry whingers, this is a great time to be in PR," said Metcalfe. "Richmond Towers is flourishing and our core skills in effective brand communication have never been more relevant to the market. Although it’s 85 years old, the agency has changed out of all recognition in the 10 years since the MBO."
According to PRWeek's Top 150 Consultancies report, Richmond Towers generated fee income of £1.9m in 2014, a rise of 10 per cent on the previous year.
