Though IBM made headlines this week for some not-too-savvy use of social media, Hershey's Reese's Peanut Butter Cups brand scored a win with its rapid and creative response to a litany of online complaints regarding its seasonal Christmas-tree-shaped candy.

The tree-shaped treats hit store shelves near the end of November. Shorly after their debut, though, consumers took to social media to complain that the candies looked less like trees and more like logs, to put it politely. Reese's defused the situation with a quickly created reponse campaign using the hashtag "#AllTreesAreBeautiful."

Tune into this week's podcast to hear the PRWeek team discuss Reese's winning strategy and the rest of the week's top PR-related news, including a UK petition to ban Donald Trump from entering the country, a recap of the 2015 PRWeek Hall of Fame, and more.
