Australian technology company Nuix has hired Naomi Beames as its global communications director.

With more than 20 years’ experience in PR and corporate affairs, Beames joins from accounting solutions company MYOB, where she was corporate affairs director for Australia and New Zealand.

Before this, she founded and managed two PR agencies in Sydney, Spectrum Communications and Max Australia, for 12 years. Both specialised in consumer tech PR and B-to-B PR, and in 2011 Beames sold both agencies to IPMG, Australia’s largest private publishing company.

Beames has worked for several top tech clients, including Google, Intel, Telstra, Symantec and Microsoft. She will focus on developing Nuix’s internal and external communications programmes.

"I am over the moon to be joining Nuix – it is such an incredible Australian company that helps to protect the world and solve huge business problems with its software," Beames said. "The Nuix team is lovely and I look forward to helping drive all our communications across the globe."

Carolyn Betts, Nuix’s global head of marketing, said: "We are thrilled to have a communications leader of Naomi’s calibre joining Nuix to spearhead our communications initiatives.

"We look forward to benefiting from Naomi’s experience in driving programs that engage and influence industry, media, and government stakeholders."
