MWW promotes JP Schuerman to Western region president

He is responsible for MWW's national LGBT, travel and tourism, wine and spirits, food and beverage, family and toy, and technology practices.

NEW YORK: MWW Public Relations has upped JP Schuerman to president of the firm’s Western region, a newly created role.

Schuerman was promoted on Wednesday, reporting to MWW president and CEO Michael Kempner. The responsibilities in Schuerman’s previous position as MWW’s EVP and GM of the Western region have been folded into his new role. He is overseeing about 50 staffers in the firm’s Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Dallas offices.

He is also responsible for MWW’s national LGBT, travel and tourism, wine and spirits, food and beverage, family and toy, and technology practices. In addition, Schuerman is serving on MWW’s executive committee, spearheading agency-wide cultural initiatives.      

The role has been created "out of necessity," based on MWW’s growth in the Western region, Schuerman said.

"Since I joined in 2012, we have experienced on average 25% year-over-year growth in the Western region," he explained. "So my objective going forward is to continue that pace of growth and also continue to establish MWW in each of its respective markets in the west as a formidable competitor across our practices."

Schuerman has worked at MWW since June 2012, when the firm acquired Enso Communications, where he was the founding partner.

Before founding Enso in January 2011, Schuerman served as EVP and general manager in Edelman’s Los Angeles office for two years. Earlier in his career, he held senior positions at CarryOn Communication and Faiola Davis Public Relations.
