CHICAGO: Media monitoring firm Media monkeybiz has reverted back to its original name - News Exposure - to more accurately portray its offerings to clients.
News Exposure’s website has been revamped and a new logo has been created as part of the rebrand.
David Lasker explained that when he founded the company back in 2010, it was initially called News Exposure, but that name was never used publicly.
"When we tried [the name News Exposure] on a couple of clients back in 2010, we felt at that point it was time to be bold and have a more fun name to work with," he told PRWeek. "We started tossing ideas around about what else we could call it and at some point someone told us to stop monkeying around, and that is how the Media monkeybiz name was developed."
Lasker, who is also the company’s CEO, said he had been contemplating a name change for the past two years, but "became serious about it" six months ago. Clients seemed confused about what services the company offered based on its name.
"The name Media monkeybiz was a great conversation piece and elicited people asking, ‘That is a great company name, but what do you do?’" said Lasker. "We had fun with the old name but it has run its course. We want new and potential clients to know how serious we take their business and more accurately portray what we do."
News Exposure bills itself as a digital content solutions company, specializing in media Research, media monitoring, press release distribution, and media analysis.
