Brands are taking to Twitter on Tuesday to celebrate National Sandwich Day – and not just those in food-related industries.

The sandwich is thought to have been the brainchild of John Montagu, Fourth Earl of Sandwich, in the 1700s, so he could simultaneously eat and gamble.

Here’s what brands had to say.

Subway

Classic FM

Dominos

McDonald’s

Foursquare

Lucky Charms

OPI Nails

The Simpsons

Haagen-Dazs

Media outlets also gave the pseudo-holiday some coverage.

BuzzFeed Food

A few brands also took to social media to mark Election Day as well.

Dr Pepper

Girl Scouts

Outlook

Zipcar
