National Chocolate, I Love You days go head-to-head on Twitter

Tweeting from the heart or the stomach? National Chocolate Day, National I Love You Day are dueling for the top trending topic on Twitter, with brands embracing both.

Twitter was buzzing with brands showing love to one of two trending hashtags on Wednesday morning: #NationalChocolateDay or #NationalILoveYouDay.

Mostly food- and animal-related brands tweeted about National I Love You Day, while companies from industries including snacks, health and wellness, and technology embraced National Chocolate Day.

As of 11:30 am EST, more than 2.83 million tweets had included the #NationalILoveYouDay hashtag, while #NationalChocolateDay was a part of 12,700-plus tweets.
