Anti-gentrification protest target Cereal Killer Café appoints PR firm Alfred

London's Cereal Killer Café has appointed the agency Alfred to launch its YouTube channel and develop a PR and social media strategy to build its profile.

The café on Brick Lane, which is owned by twins Alan and Gary Keery, was last month targeted by anti-gentrification protesters, Class War – which put it at the centre of national media focus and wider debate about affordability and changes in the capital.

The Keerys previously worked with Beaumont Communications. Alfred did not competitively pitch for the work.

The YouTube channel, called The Keery Twins, will show unseen footage of the attack as well as upcoming videos including a cereal eating challenge and a parody about hipsters.

The twins will also share cookery videos, inspired by recipes in their new book the Cereal Killer Café Cookbook.
