Yet again we have seen a rise in the number of entries to the UK’s most prestigious PR awards programme and, consequently, an improvement in quality.
This year shows the prowess of some of the UK’s smaller, specialist consultancies – such as Unity and The Academy – which are competing with the country’s best advertising and digital agencies in this integrated marketing battleground. But so are some of the more innovative large consultancies – such as Golin.
The agency sector has been on fire recently, with some fearsome new players shaking up the community. We are also seeing brave and creative work emanating from large public sector and third sector organisations, including Transport for London and Diabetes UK.
Ultimately, one is left with a sense of an incredibly diverse and vibrant British comms sector, which continues to lead the world in corporate reputation management, public affairs, healthcare comms and consumer marketing.
Thank you to all those winners for their support of this long-established (nearly 30 years now) and world-leading awards scheme. You continue to push the boundaries of best practice in the PR industry and beyond. Of that you should be immensely proud.
