Hong Kong media agency Paradigm Consulting has hired Tom Grimmer as senior advisor.
Grimmer has held several senior communications positions in the Asian banking industry, beginning his career in the region in 1985 in Beijing.
Among his roles, he was HSBC’s head of communications for Asia between 2012 and 2014.
Before this, he was regional head of corporate communications for Credit Suisse First Boston, and then managing partner in China for global public affairs consultancy Kreab Gavin Anderson.
He said: "I’m excited about advising Paradigm at a time when we see such rapid change in the media industry and the increasing popularity of social media. This means greater complexity for those with a story to tell, and major opportunities for quality communications consultancies like Paradigm. I look forward to contributing to Paradigm’s growth and success."
Paradigm was founded in 2010 by Tim Nicholls, former Asia head of communications at HSBC, and is co-led by him and Helen Lam, who ran Hong Kong communications for the bank. Both are former colleagues of Grimmer.
Nicholls says: "We are delighted to have Tom joining us as Senior Advisor. His extensive experience in communications in Greater China and spanning different industries will add enormous value to the focused services we offer to our clients.
"Tom will advise us on business strategy and identify growth areas as we continue to develop our communications and media relations services while establishing our content marketing arm."
