NEW YORK: MWW has acquired a majority stake in Berk Communications and Marketing Group, which specializes in event planning, entertainment, travel, lifestyle, and sports communications.
Berk will become an independent subsidiary of MWW and will continue to use its own brand. Its founder, Ron Berkowitz, will serve as the unit’s president and CEO.
MWW said in August that it was also reviewing a potential acquisition of Patricia Lynch and Associates, as well as several other possible deals.
Last November, MWW acquired London-based b-to-b specialist firm Braben. MWW CEO Michael Kempner said then that the firm’s acquisition strategy could go beyond traditional PR firms. It also acquired Ideation, a software and technology product-development company, last October.
MWW’s 2014 revenue was up 18.1% internationally to $56.7 million, and it grew 14.8% in the US to $53.5 million.
