Yeomans is currently the chief home affairs spokeswoman in the Prime Minister's press office, and previously worked in the Home Office, and before that the Ministry of Defence.

Yeomans will take up her new role in late October. Number 10 has advertised for a successor in her role.

Prior to her Civil Service career, she worked for digital agencies Profero and DoubleClick.

Boughen will leave BIS at some point in the autumn, and is understood to be taking time off before starting a new role.
