3x1 makes acquisitions and London move

Scotland's 3x1 Public Relations has acquired Aberdeen-based Bread Public Relations, and London digital agency Parlez Digital. Bread MD Louise Nicolson joins the 3x1 board, and Bread itself will continue to trade under its existing brand. The Parlez acquisition gives 3x1 a London office for the first time, a total staff of 30 and turnover expected to approach £3m.

The Macallan appoints The Romans for global brief

Premium single-malt whisky brand, The Macallan, has hired The Romans to work across a global comms brief, including content production and social media, following a competitive pitch. Work is currently under way to build a new £100m distillery to grow the brand.

Overture bulks up professional services offering

Overture London has made three senior hires. Mark Brandon and Jason Campbell are joining the consultancy as directors, covering senior commercial strategy and business development respectively. A former journalist, Brandon founded Motive Legal Consulting five years ago, offering advice to UK and US law firms. Campbell joins from legal services marketing agency Jellyfish. Joanne Freeman joins as an account director from global law firm Mayer Brown.

Cratus appoints Chris Roberts

Public affairs agency Cratus Communications has appointed Chris Roberts, the former Labour leader of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, as its deputy chair. He will lead the agency's work on major regeneration projects.

Refresh PR to launch MyGlazing.com

Refresh PR has been appointed by the Glass and Glazing Federation to launch a new website, MyGlazing.com, which aims to help consumers make informed decisions about windows, conservatories and other glass or glazed products for their homes.
