Katy Zack has often worked on the cusp of emerging tech such as online video and social media. At xAd, she is immersed in mobile advertising for the late-stage startup, which has so far provided its location-based technology platform for such brands as Columbia Sportswear, Toyota Scion, and Pinkberry. New York-based Zack manages a multidisciplinary team that oversees PR, marketing content, company messaging, online campaigns, and social media. She previously led comms at a number of digital agencies. Zack was the first internal PR hire at Critical Mass, where she defined the strategy for the agency’s public, media, and analyst relations. She also had a stint at AKQA, leading internal and external comms across the digital advertising agency’s five North American offices, as well as at SapientNitro.
This isn’t the first time Zack has flexed her prowess at a startup: She also developed the external and internal comms strategy for online instructional video upstart Howcast in 2010.
