Vine, the video app owned by Twitter, hired Andre Sala as head of content strategy more than a year ago – and the decision paid off pretty quickly. Vine Kids, launched in January this year, was his idea. The app offers short videos of adorable animated characters kids can watch without parents having to worry about the content. Expect Sala to continue to generate new ideas in his role; past colleagues have cited him as being a collaborator on some of the best work of their careers.
At his previous calling as director, digital content syndication and mobile development at Showtime Networks, he built up a portfolio of projects including webisodes for TV shows Dexter, Weeds, and Homeland. His work won him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Interactive Program and a Webby Award for Integrated Mobile Experience. At Vine, Sala finds himself once again at the forefront of content and mobile deployment.
