Former Hulu and HBO exec Patricia Parra has been tasked by music delivery app Shazam to drive brand vision, craft marketing and communications strategies, and lead the overall marketing function. "Patricia’s extensive background in television, her track record leading innovative and creative global campaigns, as well as her understanding of digital entertainment platforms makes her an ideal addition to our leadership team," said Shazam CEO Rich Riley at the time of her hire last year. She exhibited leadership qualities at roles with her previous employers including popular gaming startup and Kickstarter darling OUYA, and Hulu, where she led global brand strategy, original series campaigns, and new products Hulu Latino and Hulu Japan.
Before Hulu, she was at HBO, where she was pivotal to the implementation and marketing of HBO On Demand and HBO Go. At Shazam, she also leads its continued expansion into multiple entertainment and content services.
