LOS ANGELES: Vaio and sales and operations partner Transcosmos America have brought on Grayling to relaunch the brand and a new line of products in the US. Vaio is set to launch the Z Canvas tablet-laptop next month. Vaio is a former division of Sony, and is returning to the US market after its July 2014 spin off from the company.
MADISON, NJ: Century 21 Real Estate has named Cara Whitley as its global CMO. She will lead marketing, advertising, and digital media efforts, reporting to Rick Davidson, president and CEO. She was previously CMO of Squaw Valley Ski Holdings since October 2013.
BOSTON: FleishmanHillard will provide pro bono communications strategy, PR, and social media services for one year to the Cambridge Weekend Backpack Program. The organization helps low-income families by giving children nutritious meals during school breaks and weekends.
LOS ANGELES: Telemundo has selected Santa Cruz Communications as AOR for the first edition of the Latin American Music Awards, which will take place in Hollywood, California, on October 8. The firm will work to boost media awareness of the show on local, national, and international levels.
BOSTON: Cone Communications has hired Kiva Starr as VP in its CSR strategy group. Previously, Starr was a senior CSR leader at MSLGroup, where she worked with Kellogg’s, Hasbro, and Pfizer. Starr also had a previous six-year stint at Cone.
MCLEAN, VA: Sage Communications has hired Catherine Melquist as SVP of its satellite division. She will replace Penelope Longbottom as head of the Longbottom Communications unit, which was acquired by Sage two years ago. Longbottom will retire on October 31.
PARSIPPANY, NJ: Success Communications Group and Proline Communications have inked a strategic alliance in an effort to offer PR, marketing, and positioning services for the tech products and services industry. Both firms will continue to function independently.
