It’s been almost a year since Jill Hazelbaker left Google and joined Snapchat, and now her unique experience and political savvy gained at the Internet giant could prove a real asset at the photo-sharing app. Snapchat plans to curate photos and videos from 2016 presidential candidates while they’re on the campaign trail and promote the content to users.
Before moving into tech PR, Hazelbaker handled press operations for New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg's re-election campaign and also served as its senior spokesperson. She was also national comms director on Sen. John McCain’s 2008 presidential bid. Before Hazelbaker returned to LA for the Snapchat job, she was in London, responsible for Google’s PR and international comms across Europe, Middle East, and Africa. She also oversaw public policy and government relations in the EU. She first joined Google in its California office in 2010.Pic:
