BMW CEO recovering after collapsing at Frankfurt Motor Show press conference

BMW has confirmed CEO Harald Krueger is recovering after fainting during a press conference at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

In a brief statement, the a spokesperson for the car giant said the CEO had suffered a "moment of dizziness" and was "recovering well".

Krueger collapsed just five minutes into his presentation, and assistants rushed to help him off-stage.

A visibly shocked BMW spokesman took the microphone to address the audience."I'm a bit lost for words but that doesn’t help. We hope it is nothing serious. In any case I would like to ask you to stop recording now. We will try to redo the press conference for later today."

Krueger took the top job at BMW in May and this was his first appearance at the show representing the car maker, where he was due to introduce the 7-Series saloon.

Reports indicate that the CEO had been feeling unwell prior to the press conference after returning from a trip abroad.
