NEW YORK: Kwittken has won a competitive bid to become Pantone’s new PR AOR, the firm said Monday morning.
Pantone is a wholly owned subsidiary of X-Rite. The company is an authority on color and a provider of color systems, according to its website.
Jason Schlossberg, chief creative officer at Kwittken, described the account work as "this really perfect blend of corporate communications, b-to-b, and pop culture communications," adding that the company values the impact of color on areas such as design, emotion, and aesthetics.
"We are at this moment in time when design is so important at every level, and Pantone really wants to be part of that conversation," he explained.
Some team members from KFF – launched by Kwittken last month as an "agency within an agency" focused on lifestyle and entertainment – are supporting the account work, including working with Pantone at New York Fashion Week.
Pantone talked to four agencies during the review process, said Molly Walsh, PR and communications leader at Pantone. It wanted a firm that understands fashion, design, and innovation in technology and could communicate with b-to-b and b-to-c audiences.
The company previously worked with Edelman’s Silicon Valley office. A representative from the firm was not immediately available for comment.
Budget details were not disclosed.
