NEW YORK: FleishmanHillard has promoted Ephraim Cohen to GM of the firm’s New York office and Mitch Germann to the same role in Los Angeles.

Both are reporting to JJ Carter, Fleishman’s president of the US East and West regions, Canada, and Mexico. Cohen started in the position this week, while Germann began his new role last week.

"In both instances, we see a real opportunity to accelerate the integration of social, digital, and creative throughout all of our services," said Carter.

Cohen was named SVP and senior partner of social and digital in 2014. He came to Fleishman from MWW, where he was EVP of the technology industry group and head of innovation, according to his LinkedIn profile. Previously, Cohen spent nearly a decade at the Fortex Group, which he founded, and was an EVP and GM at Edelman.

Germann was previously SVP and senior partner. He rejoined Fleishman in April 2012 after serving as VP of digital at Edelman. Germann has also worked as VP of marketing and communications at Maloof Sports & Entertainment, director of brand communications at the Professional Bowlers Association, and managing supervisor in an earlier stint at Fleishman.

Carter said years have passed since there was a full-time GM in New York; since then, the role's responsibilities have been handled by the East region president. German has replaced Ryan Peal, who was named SVP and GM of Los Angeles in August 2012.

Cohen and Germann’s previous roles have not been filled at this point, Carter added.
