The bank will be launched to the public next year and will be the sixth largest full-service bank in the UK. RBS England and Wales customers will become part of W&G when it launches.
Around 300 RBS branches will be rebranded, 20 of which will be flagships. There will be a new website and multimedia launch of the W&G brand.
PRWeek understands that the bank will soon be shortlisting agencies for a consumer brief. Pitches for the account will take place in Edinburgh with the successful agency in place by September.
The bank is looking for a consumer agency on an ongoing brief to manage the press, broadcast, online and social media coverage of the launch campaign and develop a PR strategy post-launch.
The agency will work alongside future W&G and RBS stakeholders, inlcuding public affairs and external relations, marketing and employee comms.
