The trailer is based on an idea from an episode of the sitcom I'm Alan Partridge where Partridge pitches the concept of 'Youth Hostelling with Chris Eubank' to the fictional head of programming at the BBC.
The video shows Eubank visiting a Brighton hostel.
The trailer was prompted after Eubank commented on Twitter last week that he did not understand why people kept asking him about youth hostels.
Hostelworld teamed up with creative agency Lucky Generals to produce the clip while Third City supported the hostel group's in-house PR team to promote the video through social media.
Celia Venables, senior PR and comms manager at Hostelworld, said: "From a PR point of view this was the perfect brand opportunity to show off what a hostel today looks like – they are stylish and spacious with a lot more facilities. Beneath the comedy aspect it was a chance to lift the lid and change people's perceptions."
