End of a Twitter era as DKNY PR Girl account is no more

The handle had a half-million followers by the end of its run.

All tweets on the popular DKNY PR Girl account, managed by Donna Karan communications SVP Aliza Licht, have been wiped out, with reports in the media that Licht has left the company.

Earlier this month, Licht tweeted from the @DKNY handle, "Dear Friends: I have a big announcement!! For all personal or @leaveyourmarkXO book related tweets, please tweet & follow @AlizaLicht. Thx!"

The account has since been cleared of posts, including Licht’s live commentary during Scandal episodes and award-show coverage, according to Mashable. Her DKNY Tumblr and Instagram posts have also been purged.

While Licht’s LinkedIn profile states she still works at DKNY, the New York Post reported Tuesday that she’s left the company on the heels of founder Donna Karan’s June departure.

DKNY named Caroline Brown, previously president of fashion brand Carolina Herrera, as CEO at the beginning of the year.

Licht has tweeted from her personal @AlizaLicht handle, but has not said whether she’s made a career change.

When Licht began manning the @dkny handle in 2009, she posted tweets anonymously, but eventually established a strong, sassy personality for the brand over the years, reaching about 500,000 followers.

She also released a book this year called Leave Your Mark.
