Disability charity FitzRoy appoints Forster Communications to raise awareness

FitzRoy, a charity that supports people with learning disabilities, has appointed Forster Communications to deliver a campaign that raises awareness of the pressures on parents of children with learning disabilities.

Forster’s brief involves developing a research project that deals with concerns about the future of children with disabilities once their parents have died. The report aims to raise understanding of the children and increase the profile of FitzRoy. Research for the project includes a selection of focus groups and workshops with parents of children with learning disabilities and online surveys with care professionals.

Forster will aid in promoting the project through a campaign aimed at policy makers, care professionals and parents.

PR director of Forster Communications, Peter Gilheany, said: "FitzRoy is a fantastic charity and the issue is one that deserves a much higher profile. We’re going to work hard on developing a campaign that helps to do exactly that."

Forster also worked with FitzRoy in early 2014 in a workshop that promoted its brand values.
