Bodean's BBQ appoints Belt & Braces as first retained PR agency

American-style restaurant chain Bodean's BBQ has hired London-based agency Belt & Braces to manage comms across its six restaurants, new product line and expansion plans, following a non-competitive pitch.

This is the first time Bodean's has appointed a retained PR agency since its launch in 2002.

Belt & Braces, which has been given a retained contract, has been briefed to lead comms across all six venues, including the newly opened restaurant in Old Street, as well as its recently launched home cooking range, available in Selfridge’s.

Bodean's founder Andre Blais said the agency "showed a genuine understanding of the Bodean’s brand alongside creative concepts that were pretty tough to ignore". He went on to say: "We’re looking to expand rapidly in the next few years and the Belt & Braces team will be a key aspect of that progression."

Phil Savage, founder of Belt & Braces, added: "Personally I’ve been a fan of Bodean’s for the best part of a decade, so to say we’re excited to be working with it is an understatement. Andre and his team brought authentic BBQ to the UK before anyone else and championed a style of cooking that can now be found across London – that story needs to be told."

Belt & Braces was launched last year and has worked with clients including outdoor cinema Rooftop Film Club, 20th Century Fox, Honest Burgers, Brewdog, The Blues Kitchen and WC Clapham.
