Burson-Marsteller wins Jamaica Tourist Board UK PR account

The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) has appointed Burson-Marsteller to manage its PR following a five-way pitch, PRWeek has learned.

Burson-Marsteller went up against Hills Balfour, Luchford, KBC and Representation Plus for the lucrative account. All agencies pitched in Kingston, the Caribbean island's capital city, earlier this year.

The consumer-focused brief will focus on making the Caribbean island a more desirable location, with a particular emphasis on the luxury end of the market.

McCluskey International previously held the account for around seven years and was not invited to repitch for the work.

BM and JTB declined to comment.
